MobiNow expands beyond FunkySexyCool to provide
mobile content solutions for media brands.
FunkySexyCool announced today that it has changed its corporate name to MobiNow to reflect increasing demand from media companies for its mobile community platform. FunkySexyCool will remain the name of its flagship product, one of the world’s largest mobile dating communities, and recent winner of the prestigious 2008 Red Herring Global 100 award.
CEO Tim O’Connor states, “Over the last few months we have been approached by media companies looking to expand their presence to mobile. They are impressed that we have a proven mobile platform that incorporates not only media-relevant features such as polling, ranking and voting, but also advertising and transactional revenue-generating capabilities. The name MobiNow better reflects our ability to offer these companies what they want: a customized, branded, easy to implement mobile community presence.”
The MobiNow platform embodies over 18 months of continual investment and improvement to the technology behind FunkySexyCool. It’s global, it works on over 95% of the world’s web-enabled phones, it's operational in 12 languages, and it can be “skinned” to reflect varying usage models.
Most recently MobiNow’s platform has been white labeled for Nomad Two Worlds, an initiative inspired by leading fashion photographer Russell James and supported by will.i.am, Hugh Jackman and Mike Jurkovac.
